FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your soap made?

Our soaps are handcrafted in the Levant — primarily in  Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan — using centuries-old hot-process methods. Each bar carries the legacy of traditional olive oil soapmaking from regions like Nablus and Aleppo.

What ingredients are in your soaps?

pure, saponified olive oil, water, and natural soda ash or lye — no artificial dyes, fragrances, or palm oil. Every bar is 100% vegan, biodegradable, and gentle on sensitive skin.

Is your soap eco-friendly?

Yes. Our soaps are fully biodegradable, plastic-free, and packaged using compostable materials. They're part of a zero-waste lifestyle and help reduce reliance on synthetic detergents.

What is Nablus or Aleppo soap?

Nablus and Aleppo soaps are some of the oldest soap traditions in the world, dating back to the 10th century. These olive oil soaps are precursors to what many today call “Castile soap,” but with deeper historical and regional roots. Aleppo soaps contain Laurel oil and offer a more scented but still natural Olive Oil soap.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?

Yes — we offer bulk pricing for community groups, stores, and fundraisers. Contact us at theolivesoapshop@gmail.com with your needs.

Do you ship internationally?

At the moment, we ship across the United States. If you’re outside the U.S. and interested in placing an order, email us and we’ll try to make it work.

How does your soap support Palestinians?

We source directly from independent soapmakers and cooperatives. Profits are shared with families in Gaza and Palestinian artists. We are dedicated to being able to continue to buy soaps from the makers as well as give back to those in need
