About Us

The Olive Soap Shop is ran by Nico.  I have always felt the need to chip away at making the world a better place as best as I can.  I inherited an entrepreneurial spirit from my Syrian father who ran food trucks in the Central Valley of California from the 1980's to 2010's . When I first tried Nabulsi soap, I was floored that I had spent a majority of my life without it. I wanted more people to know about it and the simple but magical properties of this Olive Oil Soap. I began researching the factories that have survived occupation and destruction and figured out how to get it here from Palestine. Today we remain committed to running the Olive Soap Shop so we can keep purchasing soaps from traditional and master soap-makers in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan to be able to offer them to everyone at a fair price as well as donate a portion of soap sales to Palestinian relief funds.

I believe everyone should experience the historical richness and beauty of soap from Nablus, Palestine as a way to keep it's tradition alive amongst brutal and illegal occupation of the Palestinian people.

The Olive Soap Shop acknowledges that we occupy the unceded Ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone people, who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the Indigenous protectors of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ramaytush Ohlone have never ceded, lost, nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. We recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. As uninvited guests, we affirm their sovereign rights as First Peoples and wish to pay our respects to the Ancestors, Elders and Relatives of the Ramaytush Community. We recognize to respectfully honor Ramaytush peoples we must embrace and collaborate meaningfully to record Indigenous knowledge in how we care for San Francisco and all its people.

We are forwarding a portion of our profits, currently it's 15% of our proceeds have gone to the following mutual aid campaigns and projects that provide water and education to children in Gaza  and to a small project providing food and aid to families in Gaza. Consider donating to these funds if you have the means.
